I feel like I should start all my blogs with “grab a wine and sit down a while”
So Mallow and I have just come back from a weekend camping at Milligan Island. It’s absolutely beautiful and only 3 hrs north of Perth.
We took off a bit early from work on Friday and sadly hit the early peak hour traffic heading north… A it of stop start stop slow but we eventually got out of it and hit the open road…
It’s so great how far the free way goes now… Makes for a smoother drive!
The drive was really quick too as there was no road working actually happening..so just coasted on through… Didn’t stop anywhere as I was concious of getting there before sunset…
Managed to get to the camp spot by just after 6pm so plenty time to find my mate and see the sunset! And it was beautiful!
After parking up, grabbing a drink.. Watching the sunrise I was starving so cooked up my own dinner as Shaun had been snacking! Haha had my go to chilli in the fridge and it hit the spot!
It was a beautiful night as it wasn’t cold and there wasn’t too many bugs around… Sat outside chatting for hours before realising its time for bed!
Had my first night in a camper on Friday night and was super comfy.. Was told I snore but I’m sure it was a lie as I couldn’t possibly!
I have honestly never seen stars like this night… It felt like we were in a star dome… We even found Mars… I was 100% gobsmacked with the stars.. Couldn’t stop looking at them!! 🤩🤩
Woke up with the sun on Saturday and we met up with some friends of Shaun’s with their boat and took a drive whilst we were waiting on another mate to join us.. Got to greenhead.. Too much seaweed… Then they headed off and we went for a drive towards Leeman…
Came back to camp and not far behind Cliff was arriving.
Once Cliff had arrived we could move my car back (we were saving a spot) and head down for a snorkel!
The water was beautiful but as there was already lots of people on the beach we kinda ended up in the reedy section of the beach… Still fun to look at but definitely not as pretty…
Mallow hadn’t been on the beach yet by this stage… But she would!
Headed back to camp, rinsed off and then chilled out with Cliff at his caravan and waited for the others to come back.. Made friends with everyone and had a great afternoon!
Shaun cooked up a feast at the BBQ… Steak.. Snags… Prawns.. Onion… Was beautiful and always tastes better when someone else cooks… And Cliff even did the dishes…
Much more beverages and conversation was had.. And it appeared to be ‘pick on Joel’ night haha ha
Wasn’t a late one but was super tired so hit the hay earlyish…
2nd night in a camper and was just as good as the first…
Got woken up early so saw the sunrise.. Which was beautiful and Sunday morning was a pack up kinda morning .. Had coffee.. Brekky and watched the camper be pulled down! Very quickly might is ad!
Then it was off to the beach for Mallow to be on the sand… Lots of seaweed… Bit lumpy in parts but she loved it!
Then it was goodbyes and the 3hr trip home…
Amazing location… Great coastline.. New friends and more adventurous!
