So the lead up to this trip was epic… Lots of countdowns and planning.
8 nights camping on the beach in Bremer Bay bringing in the new year!
Sadly it just didn’t quite go to plan…. a couple of friends arrived early and set the location with 3 more cars coming down on boxing day, Mallow was one of them…
Meeting at 5am in Jarrahdale was an early rise for me at 3.15am…packed the car and was on the road by 4am!
Met everyone in town to know where we were going! Was a fun drive, heading out on the beach.. Followed by some epic corrugations and then back on the beach to the camp spot!
Mallow took to the drive so well! New suspension definitely made a difference!
Once I arrived with Mallow it was windy as! I mean windy as! Setting up the tent I was camping in was fun, Monz came and gave me a hand one to hold it one to quickly bang in the pegs.
Once tent was set up I got everything out of my car and into the tent then sat for a well earned beer.
The weather was warm but the wind was cold!
Unfortunately by the Sunday I had a bit of a tickle cough… And it never went away and seemed to get worse as the days went on.
We went off exploring on Sunday and Monday to some of the beaches around, house beach was the best! The tracks to any of the beaches around I would have definitely got lost on! I mean really lost! Thank goodness for great tour guides who know the area well! The tracks certainly had friendly bushes and trees…. Lotttsssss of new scratches on my cars body! And managed to break my UHF aerial… Fixable but.. Whoops! Haha
One of the trips into town we took a bit of a wrong turn and ended up having to tackle the sand dunes… I took 3 go’s at it, Mallow knew what she was doing but I was still a little nervous.
Went past one section of tracks where there was sooo many whale bones it was amazing!
The beach run was a bit hairy for me…. I haven’t done alot of beach driving and it was quite a bit boggier than I thought in some bits but I made it through!
Finding shelter in the bays was hard work as there was only one small bay which had hardly any wind!
Once the sun was ready to set everyone had had dinner and it was bed time!
Sleeping in a tent wasn’t something I have done for a very long time! And with the wind the tent was super noisy but it did kind of make it fun! Meant I had space to change and have my clothes unlike having my swag! It was fun!
On Tuesday the weather was checked and it was noted to get worse over coming days… I wasn’t getting any better so I made the decision to head home, and everyone was kinda in the same boat.. So the trip was cut short and the others who were yet to come down yet were advised…. It was a bitter sweet moment…
So the pack down began… Mine was down first and one of the campers and they all came down one by one…
We all drove out about 10am Tuesday morning heading home… One couple was heading away for a while longer and the rest of us headed home.
Quick stop off at Katanning to play in the all ages park.
Mallow needed a big wash and an unload… But it was left a day for that! Wednesday was clean up day!
Thanks to everyone who came along and for inviting me as it was a fantastic holiday still!

Mum, Dad and the kid! 😂😂
